If you don’t love me…I love you —- and if I love you….watch out!

Don’t blame it on the butterfly…

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

There was once a little girl who loved butterflies so much..

..she even let her friends call her "the painted beauty"

…she wanted to be like the butterfly—with its brightly colored wings…ahhh, yes…she wanted to fly

Then one day, a horrible thing happened that wrecked her fondness for the majestic flying creatures…

..as what they asserted, she had her butterfly wings broken

And so everytime she sees a butterfly, she swats it with a book

…and burns the poor thing to ashes

…dusting the remains off and blowing them with the wind…

Don’t blame it on the butterfly for butterflies are made to fly;

Don’t blame it on the butterfly, it’s not the one that made you cry;

Don’t blame it on the butterfly, it’s not it’s fault that you can’t fly…

I e-mailed Ma’am Debz like 2 days ago, she happened to send me a reply..Here it is: (subject: am alright..whatever that means)…

Dear Philip,

Of course, I remember you so well! Ikaw pa?
Anyway, you asked a lot of questions.. it’s like being given a long assignment. i bet my answers will land in the Einstein website Lemuel created.
Well, about my students—yes, just like in the movies; majority are lazy,and very disrespectful. They run around the classroom, talk no end, climb on desks, and scream at the teachers. In my whole life I have never been as disrespected as when i got here! They tell you straight in the face about the things they don’t like about you. And guess what, they just don’t like my accent…they find it funny.  And you think I was a very good speaker? hahahaha Think again!
I have won some of them though. Some have seen that beyond my accent, is a sincere and loving teacher (and you can attest to that , right?)
New Year and Christmas are also well celebrated here but without the noise and fireworks. Families gather together for Christmas dinner…they dont stay up to midnight though; only in the new year. Food is abundant; gifts abound; but without my family here with me, you could imagine how I felt.
New York is a beautiful city with all its tall buildings and big parks, museums, theaters, malls, subway systems but living here can also be very challenging.
I’m making it through so far…and I sincerely pray I will get on for as long as necessary.
Yes ,I will see you again… I’ll be there by July…so kita kits na lang tayo dyan.
Regards to all .
Ma’m Debs

So many people…yet there’s only one room for “The One”…

At this moment there are six billion four hundred seventy million eight hundred eighteen thousand six hundred seventy one people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world, six billion souls. And sometimes… all you need is one.
